Loyola academy, degree and post graduate college as well as Loyola academy junior college were founded by Rev. Fr. T. Balaiah, S.J. in 1976 in Old Alwal, Secunderabad.
It is affiliated to the prestigious Osmania University. It was granted autonomous status in 1992 by the University Grants commission.
UGC has awarded a rare status known as "College with Potential for Excellence" to this college.
