The Visakhapatnam Refinery is an oil refinery located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The refinery is owned by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a state-owned oil and gas company.
The refinery has a capacity of 8.33 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and produces a range of petroleum products, including diesel, petrol, kerosene, aviation turbine fuel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and others. The refinery also produces specialty products such as raw petroleum coke, propylene, and polypropylene.
The Visakhapatnam Refinery has undergone several modernization and expansion projects over the years to enhance its efficiency, productivity, and environmental performance. The refinery has also implemented several initiatives to promote sustainable practices, including the use of renewable energy, water conservation, and waste management.
The Visakhapatnam Refinery has received several awards and recognitions for its performance and contributions to the oil and gas industry, including the "Golden Peacock Environment Management Award" and the "Greentech Environment Excellence Award".
Visakhapatnam Refinery is one of the two oil refineries of HPCL in India.
The refinery is situated at Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
