Established in 1927 , the institute is located at the heart of Jorhat town.
The Institute is fully Govt. funded and is affiliated to State Council for Technical Education, Assam and under the control of Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.
At present the institute offers 3 years full time Diploma courses in seven disciplines. The Institute offers co-educational facility and provides all courses under Multi-point Entry and Credit System(MPECS).
