The ruined fort of Jalalgarh is situated 20 kms north of Purnia.
According to one tradition the fort was built by Saiyid Muhammad Jalaluddin of the Khagra family, on whom Jehangir conferred the title of the Raja.
The fort is a large quadrangular structure with lofty walls.
