Sitamarhi Judgeship was created on 9th of April 1977. There were provisions for 11 court-rooms and as many number of chambers and provisions for record-room and other offices in the old building.
It is a big campus and to the west of the Civil Court Building is located the District Bar Association building. Subsequently new building with Hazat, record-room and 3 Court-rooms with chambers and offices were separately constructed in two blocks in the same old premises.
The new Court-room building consisting of 16 Court-rooms and as many number of Chambers and all offices of the Judgeship is a three-story building located at a distance of about 200 yards west of the old building.
