Anupama Bhagwat is born into a musically inclined family in Bhilai. Anupama began her musical training in Bhilai with Shri R. N. Verma at the age of nine. Anupama obtained her Masters in music from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya (Khairagarh).
