Samba District is a newly formed district in Jammu Kashmir under the Jammu Division. Previously, this area was under the Jammu District.
The district covers Samba town and adjoining tehsils namely, Vijaypur and village Supwal, Gahwal.
Majority of the people of Samba are Rajputs mainly Sambyals.
