Talcher College came into existence in 1969 as a tutorial college. Over the years, the college has grown into a full fledged Arts, Science and Commerce degree college.
This college is well equipped with very competent and experienced teaching and non-teaching supporting staff for which the NAAC (UGC) assessed the college and accredited it with B+ grade.
The IGNOU authorities chose Talcher College as a Special study Centre in the year 2005 considering the demand of the local people and the infrastructure of the college in maintaining the study centre.
