The AICTE was constituted in 1945 as an advisory body in all matters relating to technical education. Presently, there are 10 All India Boards of Studies in various sectors of technical education. AICTE has also established 8 Regional Offices situated in Bhopal, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kanpur, Kolkata, Hyderabad & Mumbai, for the efficient discharge of the Council’s functions within their respective regions.
