The Electricity Department was formed in January 1963 under the Government of Goa, Daman & Diu.
The Electricity Department is the only licensee in the state of Goa for transmission and distribution of Electrical Energy.
The main focus of Goa Electricity Department would be on improving the distribution network by including the latest technologies.
