Andhra Bank

Andhra Bank has been amalgamated with Union Bank of India, another public sector bank, effective from April 1, 2020, as per the directive of the Government of India. The amalgamation aimed to create a stronger and more efficient banking entity.

Before the amalgamation, Andhra Bank had a significant presence in various states across India, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and other regions. It offered a wide range of banking services and products to its customers. Some key services provided by Andhra Bank included:

Savings and Current Accounts: Andhra Bank offered different types of savings accounts and current accounts to cater to the banking needs of individuals and businesses. These accounts came with features like ATM/debit cards, online banking, and mobile banking facilities.

Loans: The bank provided various types of loans, such as home loans, personal loans, vehicle loans, education loans, and business loans, to meet the diverse financial requirements of customers.

Fixed Deposits: Andhra Bank offered fixed deposit schemes with competitive interest rates and flexible tenure options, allowing customers to earn returns on their savings.

Credit Cards: Andhra Bank issued credit cards to eligible customers, offering features like cashback, rewards programs, and convenient payment options.

Internet Banking: Andhra Bank provided internet banking facilities, enabling customers to access their accounts, perform online transactions, pay bills, and avail various banking services through the bank's online platform.

Following the amalgamation, the banking operations of Andhra Bank have been integrated with Union Bank of India. Customers who had accounts with Andhra Bank are now customers of Union Bank of India and can access their accounts through Union Bank branches, ATMs, and digital platforms.

Andhra Bank was founded by the eminent freedom fighter and a multifaceted genius, Dr.Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramayya.

The Bank was registered on 20th November 1923 and commenced business on 28th November 1923 with a paid up capital of Rs 1.00 lakh and an authorised capital of Rs 10.00 lakhs.
