The Nitte Institute of Nursing Sciences began both the School of Nursing (SON) with an intake of 27 students and College of Nursing (CON) with 6 students at the Padmashree Hospital, Nanthoor.
The Institute offers a 4 year Basic B.Sc (N) Degree programme under the Mangalore University, Konaje and a 3 year Diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) under the KSDNEB, Bangalore. The degree programme is affiliated to the RGUHS, Bangalore. The Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences is recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the Karnataka Nursing Council (KNC).
