RBANM'S Educational Charities was founded by Dharmarathnakara Rai Bahadur Arcot Narrainsawmy Mudaliar in 1873.
The college was established in 1983 and is permanently affliated to the Bangalore University. The college is a co-ed college. In its 20th year of functioning, the college has a strength of 953 students of which 59% are boys and 41% are girls.
